The Kano State Government Skills Empowerment Programme 2026 application portal is now open for eligible young people interested in acquiring free vocational, technical, and entrepreneurial skills.
The program is designed to reduce unemployment by equipping youths with practical skills that can lead to paid employment or self-employment. Thousands of beneficiaries will receive hands-on training in different vocational institutes across Kano State at no cost.
Batch Structure
The programme will be implemented in three batches.
Batch A
- 3,200 beneficiaries
Batch B
Applicants not selected in Batch A may be considered after completion of the first phase.
Batch C
Additional qualified applicants will also be considered in the final phase.
Each batch will undergo a separate screening exercise before admission into the various training institutes.
Kano State Government Skills Empowerment Programme Requirements
Applicants must satisfy the following conditions before applying:
- Be an indigenous person of Kano State.
- Be between 18 and 35 years old.
- Possess a valid National Identification Number (NIN).
- Have an active bank account.
- Present a valid certificate of indigeneity.
- Must not have benefited from previous editions of the program.
Important: Any applicant who provides false information during registration will be automatically disqualified.

Successful applicants will be admitted into one of the following institutes based on available spaces for Kano State Government Skills Empowerment Programme.
